Summer's End

October is a beautiful time on the St. Marys River. The maple trees of Sugar Island provide a beautiful backdrop for the blue ribbon of water of the river. My hydrangea bush is in its full glory. The white blooms are now turning pink. This bush was planted by my grandmother many years ago and was her favorite. It is my favorite also along with my sweet peas which are now done blooming.
Shipping still continues at a fast pace.

Have you ever seen the river looking more beautiful? Each season has its highlights and I hope you enjoy these photos taken by my husband.

Thanks for the updates. We enjoy visiting the Sault area. Your blog has given us ideas for other spots in the area to visit. We live way down state almost to the Indiana line. Keep the updates and pictures coming.

Just wanted to let you know that I very much enjoy your photos. We were up to the Soo for a visit earlier this month, and camped along the St. Mary's River. It is our goal to return next year.

Thanks to both comment-ers. I really enjoy doing this blog. The Sault is really an amazing area. I'm reading the book, The Living Great Lakes by Jerry Dennis. I just read that French philosopher Alex Tocqueville visited the Sault in 1831 and said of the Great Lakes, "it's the most extraordinary spectacle that I have ever seen in my life."

It sill is extraordinary!
